A photo-performance against gender-based do’s and dont’s in public spaces in Turkey. The act of having one’s shoe polished in public space belongs to men. I wanted to challenge this act by exaggarating my visibility. Before stepping into a fictional marriage, which is seen as „stepping into womanhood“, I wanted to have shiny shoes.
